Pittsburgh Steelers RB Isaac Redman
said Thursday that the MRI on his injured hip "went well." ESPN's Adam Schefter shed a little more light on Redman's status Friday and, yeah, it sounds like it went well. Schefter tweeted that tests on Redman's injury revealed that he won't need surgery, but he will not play Sunday night versus Indianapolis and could practice as soon as early next week.
Jonathan Dwyer
is expected to start against the Colts.
Fantasy Analysis:
Very similar to what Redman already told us when he said yesterday that he plans to be on the practice field Monday. And I haven't heard any mention of his groin even though I thought injury is what caused his hip pain in the first place.
The love I expressed for Redman in yesterday's note has been scaled back with the news of Rashard Mendenhall
's unexpected activation off the PUP list. That means Redman probably won't have the starting job -- if healthy -- as long as I thought. Mendenhall might be playing by Week 3 or Week 5 instead of Week 8 (The Steelers have a bye in Week 4). We really don't know. This RB situation, which should also include Dwyer and maybe Chris Rainey, has never been more confusing. Not good if you're thinking about any of these guys in your draft.
