Falcons head coach Mike Smith: RB Jacquizz Rodgers is a 3-down back

Atlanta Falcons running back Jacquizz Rodgers @Qui22Rodgers is 5-foot-6 and weights less than 200 pounds.
And head coach Mike Smith thinks he has what it takes to be an every-down player.
"Quizz is someone that we feel is a three-down back," Smith told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "He can come in (and) do the things that a three-down back does. He is not just a change-of-pace back."

Fantasy Analysis:

Honestly, I laughed when I saw this story pop up. But there's nothing wrong with a little optimism. We probably won't get to see Rodgers fulfill his every-down possibilities as long as Michael Turner and Jason Snelling are around. With the Falcons moving forward with a pass-heavy attack, Rodgers is expected to be heavily involved often out of the backfield. He won't be on the field for three downs, but he will certainly have fantasy value. He is No. 46 in FFToolbox's RB rankings and has a ton of upside. He's a steal at that spot right now, but everyone else seems to love him, too. I expect Rodgers' draft stock to continue to move up as we get closer to the season. I hope we don't reach the point where so many people consider him an underrated player that he gets overrated.
