Buccaneers RB LeGarrette Blount already back at practice
When he fell to the turf Friday night, the thinking was he had suffered a long-term injury. Turns out that Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount just needed a few days off. Blount returned to practice Monday, three days after coming down with a minor groin strain. The immediate thought was that he had suffered a major knee injury.
Blount is unlikely to play in the Buccaneers' third preseason game. But he is expected to be ready for Week 1.
A season-ending injury to Blount would have helped Doug Martin 's fantasy stock. In any event, Martin is still the team's best back. Blount will steal some goal-line touches and other spare carries, but Martin's expected workload has deservedly entrenched him in the RB2 range. He is ranked No. 17 among running backs by FFToolbox.
