Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson
told ESPN that he did not give "full effort" last season in order to avoid injuries before signing a new contract. When asked about his questionable effort in 2011, Jackson responded, "I let it get to me, even though I tried to not let it. I was trying to protect myself from getting hurt -- now I'm just giving it all." Jackson received a five-year $51 million extension along with $15 million guaranteed earlier this spring.
Fantasy Analysis:
Jackson has been a bit of enigma since joining the NFL. At times he looked like a dynamic talent who could stretch the field or return any kick for a score while also disappearing for small stretches. He finished with 961 receiving yards last season, the lowest total since his rookie season. Jackson is still a viable fantasy option, even with his so-called lack of effort and fantasy owners have to accept that his inconsistencies until his attitude changes.
