Here is some promising news about a big-name player that we didn't get to yesterday. Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur noted Sunday that running back Trent Richardson is making a speedy recovery from his Aug. 9 arthroscopic knee surgery.
"Trent's getting better every day, so his progress has been outstanding." Shurmur said. "He's about where we thought he'd be, probably a little bit ahead. So he'll be out here soon."
The Browns are still holding out hope that Richardson will play Sept. 9 versus the Eagles. If not, he should return shortly thereafter. Of course, Richardson has deserved a downgrade in fantasy ranks, and his workload might be scaled back for a couple of weeks upon his return. But I still think he's a fine pick near the back end of round two. I would take Richardson ahead of fellow injured running back Ryan Mathews. If you do draft the rookie, make sure you add his handcuff, Montario Hardesty , before closing up shop.
