On the Eagles' sixth offensive snap of Monday's preseason matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots, Michael Vick
was hit by Patriots LB Jermaine Cunningham and was subsequently taken to the locker room for rib x-rays. His rib x-rays came back negative.
Fantasy Analysis:
This is Vick's second injury in as many preseason games; last week he bruised his thumb against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Obviously, this appears to be a cause for concern as the season comes closer and fantasy drafts have begun to start. This particular play might be the offensive line's fault and if the protection doesn't get better for Vick soon, he might just end up missing time during the season because of his ribs. Don't forget that he was sidelined last season for a rib injury too. We all know the upside to Vick, but I think it would be naive not to drop him a least a spot or two in your QB rankings. Although tangential to this story, it might be smart for dynasty managers to take a deeper look at Nick Foles just as insurance.
