NY Giants WR Hakeem Nicks practices for the first time since camp started

Last week Giants WR Hakeem Nicks was taken off of the physically unable to perform list and has been limited in football activities until Monday's practice. Coach Tom Coughlin stated, "He seemed to be pretty good". Coughlin also said, "He's very anxious to do more, but we'll go slow." During practice he caught a touchdown pass during two-minute drills. Coughlin did not speculate on the amount of time that Nicks would play in either of the Giants final two preseason games even though Nicks has been running routes for at least two weeks. The Giants number 2 WR Victor Cruz @TeamVic was quoted as saying (in reference to Nicks), "That's my guy, and he's getting healthy. He's healthy again."

Fantasy Analysis:

Hakeem Nicks appears to be on pace to start the season. It seems that him, Coach Coughlin, and fellow WR threat Victor Cruz are all optimistic about his return and have no questions about his playmaking ability. This optimism bodes well for Cruz because he will now garner the secondary coverage and Nicks will deal with the primary coverage as his status of WR1 resolidifies for fantasy managers. Both of these wideouts should produce this season. Nicks, a former first round selection, is an unquestioned top 10 WR and could very easily crack the top five by the end of the year. Expect an increase in both yardage (1,192 yards last season) and touchdowns (seven last season).
