Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace
is expected to sign his one-year tender and report to the team sometime this weekend. Wallace told a few teammates that he has plans to report. If he is back by the weekend, he'd have two weeks of practice and one final preseason game to get his mind and body ready for the season. The Steelers new offensive coordinator Todd Haley will have to get him up to speed very quickly to any new terminology and plays.
Fantasy Analysis:
Holdouts very rarely end up lasting into the season, but this one has been close. Wallace is the clear leader of Pittsburgh's receiving corps and is a viable low-end WR or very high-end WR2 for your fantasy squad. Beat writer Ed Bouchette feels that Wallace will reopen contract talks during these next two weeks and there's a possibilty he's signed long-term. Even though Antonio Brown
has been rising up draft boards as a sleeper pick, Wallace is the clear-cut No. 1 WR on this team until further notice.
