After missing the first two preseason games, Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells will be available for Thursday's matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Wells, who began training camp on the PUP list as he continued to recover from offseason knee surgery, has been practicing for the past couple of weeks. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt apparently likes what he has seen.
"I'm excited to see [Wells] in a game," Whisenhunt told the team's official web site Tuesday. "There's no concern with him at all with his health."
Fantasy Analysis:
Fellow running back Ryan Williams
played in his first 2012 preseason game last week and carried the ball five times. Expect a similar limited workload for Wells in his first time out. I was impressed with what I saw from Williams against the Raiders. He broke a couple of ankle tackles and just looked to run hard. Running hard hasn't always been Beanie's forte, but it seems like he's always battling some sort of injury. Beanie will still be the Cardinals' starting running back when the regular season begns and should be considered a low-end RB2. But if Williams repeats his most recent performance, he will earn more carries going foward and could turn Arizona's backfield into a full-blown timeshare.
