Cowboys WR Miles Austin shut down until regular season

With so many big names on their offense banged up, the Dallas Cowboys are just hoping that they can reachWeek 1 without any further setbacks. In the case of wide receiver Miles Austin @MilesAustinIII, they are making sure of it. Owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that Austin, who missed the first two preseason games and hasn't practiced since Aug. 4 because of a hamstring strain, will be held out for the rest of the preseason.
"We're basically just wanting to make sure he's ready for New York," Jones said of Austin in a radio interview Tuesday. "That's where it's all headed for him. He probably will need some work, just logic tells you, before he gets in the game, but we're not interested in seeing him (playing in the preseason)."

Fantasy Analysis:

Austin missed a lot of preseason action last year because of a hamstring strain and then missed six regular-season games due to injuries to each hamstring. Given how often Austin has been affected by this type of injury, I'd say it's far from certain that he'll actually be active on Sept. 5 versus the Giants. But if he just stays healthy, Austin could be a very high-end WR2. He scored seven touchdowns in parts of 10 games last season.
Also, it's worth mentioning that Jerry Jones said wide receiver Dez Bryant @DezBryant is "fine," and Bryant himself said that despite his patella tendinitis, he'll be playing against the Giants "without a doubt."

I was hoping that austin would be a nice rebound wr2 candidate heading into this season but the hamstring thing from last yr is rearing it's ugly head..i dealt with this last yr on my fantasy team and think it would be best to stay away from austin before round 6 in all formats
