Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden
hasn't played in more than 13 games in any of his four NFL seasons. He has been one of the more injury-prone backs in the NFL. Frankly, head coach Dennis Allen doesn't care; he's going to give the ball to McFadden and let the chips fall where they may.
"I think the thing that you look at is as a running back, I mean, it's a tough position," Allen said in a Wednesday TV interview. "They take some shots, and that's part of football. We can't baby [McFadden]. We can't protect him. We got to go out there and play football and give him an opportunity to carry the ball, and we hope that he's able to stay healthy."
Fantasy Analysis:
As do the rest of us. I've had no fear of selecting McFadden in the middle of the first round in mocks, as high as No. 5 overall. I understand the risk, but it's one taken on a player who could very well be the best at his position if he can play 16 games.
