Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure
will have just one week of full practice under his belt before playing in his first preseason game. That seems to be the plan as head coach Jim Schwartz announced Wednesday that Leshoure is "on track" to face the Raiders this Saturday.
Leshoure, who has been limited by a hamstring injury for most of training camp, finally returned to team practices Sunday.
Fantasy Analysis:
And here I was thinking that the Lions would play it safe with Leshoure and just try to make sure he's ready for the regular season. He's probably not going to carry the ball double-digit times, but it'll be interesting to see what he looks like in game action. It'll be a big step forward for Leshoure as he tries to remind everyone why he was a second-round draft pick prior to last year's Achilles tendon tear. Kevin Smith
is still the team's likely starter at running back. But right now, Leshoure is well worth a flyer at the back end of your draft.
