Giants RB David Wilson working with first-team offense

New York Giants running back David Wilson @4stillRunning is finally getting the opportunity to work with the first-team offense in practice. Wilson has been splitting first-team reps with Ahmad Bradshaw this week after spending the majority of camp behind D.J. Ware @DJDannyWare28, partially because he has been slow to understand the Giants' playbook. Wilson said his "heart was pounding" when he took his first snaps with Eli Manning and Co. on Monday, but he soon settled down.

Fantasy Analysis:

Ware finished the first half after Bradshaw left Saturday's game early in the first quarter due to a hand injury. Fortunately for Wilson, Ware was absolutely brutal. He gained 15 yards on 11 carries and missed a block that led to a blocked punt. Wilson wasn't outstanding against the Jets -- 26 yards on eight carries -- but certainly better than Ware.
Hopefully, this news means that Wilson has surpassed or will soon surpass Ware on the depth chart. It may come down to just how quickly he grasps all of the plays, because he is more talented than anyone else behind Bradshaw. Given Bradshaw's lengthy history of foot injuries, Wilson is one of my favorite backup RBs to pick up during drafts.
