Dug deep into a long holdout that is becoming more costly each day, for both him and his team, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew
told NFL.com in a Wednesday interview, "I think things are going to work out ... everything's going to be good."
Fantasy Analysis:
Good for whom? It's not good for Jones-Drew, who is losing money and valuable time with his teammates, preparing to go to work. It's not good for the Jaguars. Their brass has stood firm on their stance to not renegotiate MJD's contract. But I'm sure they would rather not want to head into this season without their best player. Maybe this is only good for Rashad Jennings
, Jones-Drew's backup who now appears to be the team's clear starter. He can catch and is big enough to handle work on all three downs. He should be in the RB2 discussion.
In that same interview today, Jones-Drew said that you should draft him No. 1 overall in fantasy. He says that every year, but now I think it's a stretch to take him prior to Round 4.
