Packers RB James Starks may be on roster bubble

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is projecting that Green Bay Packers running back James Starks @James44Starks (turf toe) may not make it through the first round of cuts. On Monday, teams will have to trim their rosters from 90 to 75 players. With the recent addition of free agent Cedric Benson @Cedric_Benson, this could lead to the end of Starks' career with the Pack. Starks is in competition with Benson, Alex Green @AGreen_20 and Brandon Saine.

Fantasy Analysis:

Starks should've had a breakout last year but it never clicked. If he doesn't make the cut, it's a wide open race in Green Bay and fantasy owners should familiarize themselves with the running back depth chart. Benson will likely need to shake some cobwebs, which could open the door for another young player. The Packers' running game is, to put it simply, unreliable so even if Starks sticks around, the eventual No. 1 back isn't that valuable.

I read the Journal-Sentinel daily. The writer who wrote the article, Rob Reischel, is pretty much clueless. The article is pure speculation.

If you see something from Bob McGinn in the J-S, pay very close attention to it. Don't put too much stock in what you see from the rest of the beat writers, especially so in Reischel's case.

Cedric Benson looks like he locked down the starting job with tonight's performance.
