Browns 'can't rush' RB Trent Richardson's return

Cleveland Browns team president Mike Holmgreen said in a radio interview with SportsTime Ohio "there's a chance" running back Trent Richardson could be ready for the regular season opener on Sept. 9. Holmgren continued, "As a coaching staff and as an organization, you have to be really smart in how you do that. As much as we'd all love to see him play, and are looking forward to him playing, we can't rush him back in before he's ready."

Fantasy Analysis:

Richardson's status remains ambiguous but fantasy owners should still be happy to select him in the second round. The Browns will struggle on offense yet T-Rich will be the team's main catalyst whether it is carries or receptions. For the short term, backup back Montario Hardesty @MoHard20 has some value since he could start a week or two early on in the season.

I think Trent Richardsons ADP is way too high on FFtoolbox. He is a unproven, injured, and on a suspect offense. Sure there is a chance he could be the next Adrian Peterson, but with the QB situation and the supporting cast I don't see it. I think he is a 6th or 7th round pick at best.

I'm with dunfee on this one. Bad offenses generally don't produce good numbers. TR is unproven and injured. I'll be happy when a competitor grabs him in the second round.

What about Steven Jackson ? He has put up solid numbers year after year on a team with a losing record.
