Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew 'must' report by Saturday to play in Week 1

Because Maurice Jones-Drew @Jones_Drew32 can not slip out of the news cycle for more than a few hours, this comes from the Twitter feed of Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union:
"If MJD hopes ot have any shot of starting the opener vs. Minnesota -- and that might already be gone -- he must report no later than Saturday."

Fantasy Analysis:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure MJD doesn't really care about any strict deadlines right now, either real or otherwise speculated. He's in one corner, the Jaguars' execs are in the other, and neither side has given any sign of coming together to settle this holdout soon. I'm staying far away from Jones-Drew -- to a point. If he falls into Round 4 or further in a draft, you gotta give it a thought or two. But I am very sold on Rashad Jennings @RashadJennings, despite his limited playing time and the fact that he missed all of last season due to a torn ACL. He is the Jags' unquestioned starter and could play on all three downs right now.

Players rarely holdout any significant regular season time, even if MJD starts late this season he is still a better option than most RB's outside of the first round. There is no way he slips past the second round. All running backs come with risk and this year seems that is especially so. MJD is a risk that can be a big reward, but in most drafts you are going to have to invest early if you want him. Thinking MJD will slip to the 4th or later is unrealistic. My advice take a gamble with any pick in the second round.

Hope MJD makes it into jags camp or is traded before my draft this saturday because I would love to take him late first or at the turn in the 2nd round if he is there

I picked him up at 18 overall.

I just got R. Jennings in the 13th round! I'm happy with that. He's looked decent in the pre-season and can be a week one starter in my flex position......and then he will be the starting running back (trade bait) from week 5 on because MJD will have broken by then. The hold out curse is real. Just like the John Madden cover.
