Because Maurice Jones-Drew
can not slip out of the news cycle for more than a few hours, this comes from the Twitter feed of Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union:
"If MJD hopes ot have any shot of starting the opener vs. Minnesota -- and that might already be gone -- he must report no later than Saturday."
Fantasy Analysis:
Yeah, I'm pretty sure MJD doesn't really care about any strict deadlines right now, either real or otherwise speculated. He's in one corner, the Jaguars' execs are in the other, and neither side has given any sign of coming together to settle this holdout soon. I'm staying far away from Jones-Drew -- to a point. If he falls into Round 4 or further in a draft, you gotta give it a thought or two. But I am very sold on Rashad Jennings
, despite his limited playing time and the fact that he missed all of last season due to a torn ACL. He is the Jags' unquestioned starter and could play on all three downs right now.
