Coach wants Chicago RBs Matt Forte and Michael Bush to rush 1,000 yards

Chicago Bears offensive coordinator and former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice told the Chicago Sun-Times that he wants running backs Matt Forte @MattForte22 and Michael Bush @michaelbush29 to each rush for 1,000 yards this season. Tice also relayed that message to Bush when the latter was visiting Chicago as a free agent. The Bears offense finished 24th in the NFL last season with 5,026 total offensive yards.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Bears will certainly need to strike a balance between their stronger backfield and improved receiving corps. With the addition of Brandon Marshall @BMarshall, expectations are higher in Chicago and rightfully so. Tice replaces Mike Martz, an offensive coordinator obviously known for his downfield passing attack. Forte is currently a late first-round pick while Bush is one of the many backup backs coming off the board around the eighth round. If you haven't secured a backup back or two by the ninth round, the pickings get slim very quickly.

A guy who is going to be splitting carries, losing touches on the goal line, and has knee issues is totally worth a first round pick.

nice sarcasm...i wouldn't draft forte before the end of round 2

The knee is fine. Forte will be a beast this season. He's worth a first round pick if you are picking late in a 12 team league. Good RBs are slim pickings this season so in my opinion you have to try to get one in the first round unless you can get one of the top 3 QBs.

Back has never missed a game before last year with a minor injury. He had 0 goal line TDs. Only 3 rushing total. So there are absolutely NO Tds last year that would be vultured.

What he is, is a 3 down back that is excellent in pass catching with a fantastic injury track record and an unquestioned role.

If you're in PPR, the man's a top 6 RB.

Agreed, No hesitation due to injury risks or goalline vultures. If anything I think him and J Charles both benefit from the bigger "bruiser" backs being added. Both are in for big years.

Would you trade Hakeem Nicks for Bandon Marsahal?

I was thinking about making the same trade

PPR keeper league; would you keep forte or mathews? I already have Calvin Johnson and have my choice between forte, mathews, or murray. Thoughts please.

I was thrilled to get Forte with my second round pick (12 team league, 6th pick in second round).
