Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford
had x-rays taken during Saturday's preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. Stafford hit his left hand on the helmet of Raiders defensive end Dave Tollefson. The x-rays came back negative. Shaun Hill came in to replace Stafford, although the team later stated Stafford could have returned if it were a regular season game.
Fantasy Analysis:
Stafford is only one great season removed from the label of being an injury-prone season. The Lions are an offensive juggernaut with him at the helm and mincemeat without him. Calvin Johnson
would undoubtedly see his numbers shrink and Titus Young
would be a sleeper no more. All early reports indicate Stafford will be fine and he shouldn't miss any time. It is a left hand injury, after all, so continue to look for Stafford sometime in the second round in most formats.
