After weeks of speculation, it appears that Tampa Bay Bucs running back Doug Martin
has officially earned the starting role. Martin most recently started the preseason game against the New England Patriots and rushed for 53 yards on 13 carries and a TD. He also added three receptions for 12 yards. Head coach Greg Schiano told the Tampa Bay Times, "That's why he moved in and started the game; because he has shown me that much."
Fantasy Analysis:
In case you only now began following fantasy football news, this should come as no surprise. Martin's draft stock has been on a continual climb all offseason and into the preseason. Schiano is known for his commitment to the run game and has even compared Martin to Ray Rice
, a player Schiano coached while at Rutgers. The Bucs finished 30th in rushing yards last season, a statistic they'll almost certainly improve upon should Martin live up to his hype. Look for him in the third round of your draft.
