Colts trade second-round pick for Dolphins CB Vontae Davis

The Indianapolis Colts traded a second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and conditional sixth-round pick for Miami Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis @VontaeDavis21. The Miami coaching staff came away unimpressed with Davis after he showed up to training camp out of shape. Indy is transitioning to a 3-4 defense which will require a press-man cover corner like Davis. Miami will rely on Richard Marshall and Sean Smith @SeanSMITH4 as their top two corners.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Colts second-round pick will likely end up as one of the first few picks in that round. Davis is only 24 years old and has two years on his contract. Unfortunately though, Indy has a long way to go and should be hoarding draft picks and not trading them away. Miami has now very publicly released Chad Johnson and now traded away the questionable efforts of Davis. Head coach Joe Philbin has a clear idea of what kind players he's looking for his team. Looks like the Dolphins better get in line or they might be next to get their walking papers.

Should be hoarding draft picks? What corner would they have gotten in the 2nd that's better than Davis?
