A lot of players -- and fans -- don't care about their team's final preseason game. But one of the big names who will most likely be on the playing field this week is New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks. The Giants play the Patriots on Wednesday night.
"I'm supposed to be able to take some live snaps this week (against the Patriots)," Nicks told ESPN New York. "That's what [head coach Tom Coughlin] told me when I asked him yesterday. The doctors said the same thing, so that's what I look forward to doing.
"I can't wait to get some live action, knowing somebody's gonna be hitting me after I catch the ball, so that's what I look forward to," Nicks said.
Nicks has yet to play in a preseason game this month because he is still trying to work back into form after breaking a foot in May. But he has been ramping up his practice work lately and reportedly practiced at near 100 percent Sunday.
Fantasy Analysis:
Nicks will be very limited, to be sure. But it'll be cool to see him out there running a few routes. He may begin the season slowly, but the good news here is it seems all but certain that Nicks will suit up Sept. 5 versus the Cowboys. He's still a WR1.
