Vikings RB Adrian Peterson takes on contact in practice

As we continue to inch closer to the regular season, Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson continues to progress at the same rate toward full strength. On Monday, Minnesota Vikings coaches allowed their defenders to take some hits on Peterson for the first time during training camp.
Of course, the contact came with some caveats. No Viking tackled Peterson to the ground, and nobody was allowed to touch him below the knees.
"We told our defense to hit [Peterson] a little bit and wanted to see how he responded," head coach Leslie Frazier said. "So I'm anxious to talk with him and see how he did."
Frazier said Peterson hasn't experienced any swelling or soreness in his surgically repaired knee. Both team and player are hoping that Peterson is able to play Sept. 9 versus Jacksonville.

Fantasy Analysis:

I still think Peterson is being drafted too high -- his current ADP is 21, according to FFToolbox. But for those of you who have taken him in the second round, you'll be happy to know that Peterson appears to be on track to be active Week 1. I just don't think you're going to get much out of him for the month of September and thus, he's being taken too soon. But I've said that a lot this month; I think I'll stop.
