Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice
has spent most of the offseason recovery from dual shoulder surgery and any lingering concussion effects. He's been practicing without limitations for just 10 days, but that didn't stop head coach Pete Carroll from saying Monday that Rice is "ready to go" for the regular season, according to Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN in Seattle. Carroll also said that Rice is in great shape and is currently the "strongest he's been."
Fantasy Analysis:
One thing that never stops is Carroll's optimism. It's great for a head coach, but it's sometimes easy to read through for everyone else. Rice might be in great shape, but he can't possibly be in football shape yet after not doing a whole lot during camp. He finally played in a preseason game Friday, seeing a few snaps and a couple of targets. I like Russell Wilson, and Rice is just 25 years old. But I just don't think Rice has a lot of upside. He has been just so fragile over the past two seasons. He has a WR3 ceiling.
