During Monday's practice, Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Jake Long is rumored to have sprained his right MCL. He is currently having an MRI done to assess the injury. The injury was originally believed to have been not serious, at least according to the Palm Beach Post. ESPN insider Adam Schefter is hearing the injury is more critical.
Fantasy Analysis:
Long is one of the best left tackles in the game and would be protecting the blindside of rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill this year. Losing one of their best players would hurt, but it also affects guys like Reggie Bush and even Davone Bess. Also, something to keep in mind is that some sprains are more serious than others. This injury could last a couple weeks or it could be months. Regular backup Lydon Murtha isn't expected during the team's final preseason game which will move rookie right tackle out of Stanford Jonathan Martin to left tackle. This move creates a domino effect of players shifting positions. Hopefully Long can come back before the season begins.
