'No indications' that Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew to end holdout

ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday discussed the strong likelihood that Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew @Jones_Drew32 would extend his holdout into the regular season. During a SportsCenter segment, Schefter said, "There are no signs he's coming in anytime soon. It certainly looks like this is going to go into the start of the regular season and MJD will not be there for the Jaguars' regular season opener. Unless something changes between the two sides, and there are no indications that's happening anytime soon."

Fantasy Analysis:

The problem here is that Jones-Drew front-loaded his contract. He has already earned roughly 70-percent of his contract and is 'only' scheduled to earn $4.45 million this season and $4.95 million in 2013. He would essentially would be playing with a pay cut, from his perspective at least. Unfortunately, this is the contract that he agreed to and with Rashad Jennings @RashadJennings playing relatively well, he really doesn't have any leverage and perhaps never had any to begin with. The only way MJD could see the field anytime soon is if there is a trade.

What round would you draft Rashad Jennings?

I got Jennings in the 11th, and he seems to still be there with the ADP... Take him earlier, use him weeks 1-3, then grab Leshoure for weeks 4 on...

MJD should honour his contract, and pay back the teams (or a local charity) a commensurate amount of money for his ego laden disrespect. There should be some honor in contracts signed.

lol... @kstunder, would you say the same thing who cut players on a whim? NFL contracts are not guaranteed. It is a system that is set up for greed to thrive, so how can we get upset when that greed rears its ugly head?
