Running back James Starks
came down with a case of turf toe during the Packers' first preseason game. He has been sidelined since, watching as Cedric Benson
has taken his spot in the starting lineup. According to head coach Mike McCarthy, Starks won't be coming back into the lineup soon.
"James Starks, just talking with the medical staff, is coming along slow," McCarthy said Tuesday. "We'll continue to treat him. He hasn't made a whole lot of progress here of late."
Fantasy Analysis:
In other words, James Starks hasn't made any progress. More good news for Cedric Benson and those who drafted him. Alex Green
's surgically repaired ACL appears to be close to 100 percent, so I presume he would take over as Benson's backup while maintaining his duties as the Packers' third-down back.
Benson has quickly become the Packers' unquestioned starter and a really good flex option in fantasy. Starks has become undraftable just as quickly. Turf toe isn't something that goes away in short order.
