Redskins bid farewell to TE Chris Cooley

Chris Cooley @thecooleyzone still wants to be a starting tight end in the NFL. The Washington Redskins will give him that opportunity, just not with them.
The Redskins released Cooley on Tuesday. Cooley has spent his entire eight-year career in Washington. He turned 30 last month and set the franchise's record for receptions by a tight end with 428.

Fantasy Analysis:

But injuries have cost Cooley a lot of time away from the playing field in the last few years, and the Redskins weren't going to pay $4 million to a backup tight end. We've definitely seen the best from Cooley; he might never be worth fantasy consideration again.
Fred Davis @freddavis83 was one of my favorite mid-range targets at tight end earlier this year. But there have been reports that he hasn't looked great in training camp and from what I've seen in preseason action, he's not getting a lot of attention from RGIII. Davis remains a really tough matchup from a physical standpoint, but I've scaled back my projections for him slightly, because he and the starting quarterback just don't seem to be clicking right now. He's still a TE1.
