Titans WR Kenny Britt suspended 1 game

The NFL has finally handed down discipline for Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt @KennyBritt_18. He will be suspended for the first game this season and only the first game. He will be eligible to return Sept. 16 against the San Diego Chargers -- that is, if his surgically repaired knees are well enough to play.

Fantasy Analysis:

Wow, one game? I mean, I know that there hasn't been an overwhelming danger quality in many of Britt's arrests, but one game? I know three of his eight arrests occurred during last year's lockout, but one game? I'm obviously surprised.
Britt wouldn't have much in Week 1 any way, even if his knees were OK. The positive to this suspension is that it gives Britt more time to get healthy and perhaps take the field in Week 2. He'll be worked back in slowly, but as a sometimes-elite player who has dropped to the WR3 range in many drafts, Britt is worth a pick if you have a decent amount of patience.

This was Britt's first offense per the substance abuse policy which is completely separate from the personal conduct policy. It was actually possible he could have not received any suspension since you are allowed one free pass on the substance abuse policy. Not saying anything was right or wrong, just sharing the reason why it was most likely only one game.

No, I understand that. I wrote about the possibility that he might not actually be suspended at all a few days ago. But the reality that it is just a one-game ban is a little tough to handle. The whole thing about how this latest offense isn't affected by his previous seven arrests because it falls under the title of a different policy, I don't get it.
In any case, Britt should feel fortunate.
