Chiefs RBs Peyton Hillis and Jamaal Charles could split 50-50 timeshare

Kansas City Star reporter Adam Teicher told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that he feels Kansas City Chiefs running backs Peyton Hillis @thepeytonhillis and Jamaal Charles @jcharles25 could be working in a 50-50 timeshare. More specifically, he said the carries split will be "pretty close" between the two backs. The Chiefs previously have said they want to get both backs a total of over 500 touches. The Chiefs ran just over 1,000 plays last season so it's certainly possible if they stay healthy.

Fantasy Analysis:

With no clear leader, Hillis would presumably be a fantasy steal if he manages to earn 250 or more touches. That's a big stretch though. The Chiefs would have to be a rather dominant team to rely so heavily on their running game and take many leads in the second half (since if they were behind, they'd have to pass more). If someone could guarantee that Charles would also see at least 250 touches, then he could certainly return to his former elite status as a top fantasy back.

If your league is a ppr league Hillis could be huge as he showed with the browns that he is a great option in the passing game.

At very least he is, at the base a fantastic handcuff to Jamaal Charles. They could make a deadly combination with the right backups.
