D.J. Ware
opened the preseason as the Giants' second-string running back. That didn't last long as David Wilson
clearly outpreformed him in the next two preseason games and now, it's Wilson who has locked up the backup job. Ware is out of a job entirely. The Giants cut him Friday.
Fantasy Analysis:
Andre Brown and De'Rel Scott remain on the depth chart, but Wilson is the only backup you need to think about right now. He's one of the best handcuffs to grab in the later round of your drafts. As was evident in that game against Chicago last week, Wilson has great speed, can catch the ball and has strong run-after-contact ability. Ahmad Bradshaw is still the clear starter, obviously. But the status of his feet is the eternal question with Bradshaw. It just seems like a matter of time before something cracks in one of his feet, opening the door for Wilson to take over.
