If there is any quarterback who needs a "handcuff" in fantasy football, it's Michael Vick
. He has missed at least three games in each of the past three seasons. He was on the field for 12 plays during the preseason and suffered contusions on his ribs and throwing hand. That handcuff right now is rookie Nick Foles
. That's not only because Foles impressed during exhibition games, but the Eagles released Mike Kafka
on Friday. Kafka opened training camp as the team's No. 2 quarterback, but a broken left (non-throwing) hand sidelined him for the final three weeks of August.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Eagles couldn't find a trading parner for Kafka, so they just cut their losses. Trent Edwards is the No. 3 QB. It was only the preseason but Foles looked mighty good. He should be added in deep and/or two-QB leagues. You can't overlook (1) Andy Reid's quarterback touch; and (2) Vick's injury history.
