A little bit of good news for Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten
. He practiced on Saturday for the first time since suffering a lacerated spleen on Aug. 13. Witten has not yet been cleared for contact, but he has been increasing his football activity over the past seven days. He's been doing resistance training, running routes and catching passes.
Fantasy Analysis:
With the Cowboys playing their first game in four days, this Saturday practice is similar to a player practicing on Wednesday of a regular NFL week. We'll keep you updated on Witten's progress, but he's obviously not going to play if he isn't cleared for contact soon. John Phillips is next in line on Dallas' tight end depth chart. He's been bothered by an ankle injury recently, but it appears that he has better odds than Witten of playing in this game. Phillips is an option for Witten owners in very deep leagues looking for a one-week replacement
