The Patriots continue to get younger at wide receiver. They traded a conditional draft pick in 2015 to the Rams on Saturday for wide receiver Greg Salas
. That's what sources have told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Salas was an effective slot receiver for a little while last season, catching 27 passes in six games. However, he broke his left leg on Nov. 6 and was placed on injured reserve. Salas was a fourth-round pick in the 2011 draft. Josh McDaniels, then the Rams' head coach, helped make that selection. McDaniels is now the Patriots' offensive coordinator.
Fantasy Analysis:
So, McDaniels brings in one of his boys. But if my mind serves me correctly, the Patriots already have a pretty good slot receiver. Salas is no better than fifth or sixth in Patriots' pecking order for targets right now, and he'll probably need an injury to Wes Welker and/or Brandon Lloyd to hold any fantasy value.
