Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew ends holdout, returns to team

Details are sparse but ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted that Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew @Jones_Drew32 would be returning to the team today. Schefter's exact words via Twitter, "Here we go: MJD returning to Jaguars today. Carry on." Expect many updates regarding his return and potential playing time.

Fantasy Analysis:

I nearly traded for Rashad Jennings yesterday in one league where I've got MJD as my top back. Patience is a virtue! Jones-Drew isn't a lock to play in Week 1 by any means but considering he was slipping nearly into the third round, what a value pick now that he's returning. The Jaguars have to be patting themselves on the back for allowing this to play out without caving into his demands. For those who have Jennings, don't cut him loose just yet since he could start in Week 1 and may have carved a larger role for himself during the preseason.

I knew it!!! I drafted him in the 3rd in an 8 man league yesterday!!! Everybody else stayed away from him!

I would not assume that his missing all of training camp will not affect his performance. Nor would I assume that he will not lose some touches to Jennings. He may still be worth a first round pick, given all the other question marks at the RB position, but only at the end of the round, not at #4 or #5 as originally projected.

Plus, late holdouts always seem to get injured or just aren't as effective. I'm curious to see what performances come out of MJD, Wallace, and Bowe.
