To start this season, it will be Domenik Hixon
joining Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz when the Giants come out in three-receiver sets. Offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride said Sunday that Hixon, for the second consecutive year, will begin the season as the Giants' No. 3 wide receiver, ahead of Rueben Randle
, Ramses Barden
and Jerrel Jernigan
. Hixon tore an ACL early in Week 2 last season. That opened the door for Cruz to get more playing time, which would ultimately lead to a lot of salsa dancing and commercial endorsements.
Fantasy Analysis:
I think Randle will take over the job in time. Hixon is more suited for special teams. But since the Giants run three-receiver sets often, and they are looking for someone to pick up the slack follwing the departure of Mario Manningham to San Fran, Hixon is someone to keep tabs on.
