We are about 48 hours away from the start of the NFL regular season, and it certainly looks like Cowboys wide receivers Miles Austin
and Dez Bryant
will be available while Jason Witten
remains a game-time call.
Austin and Bryant both practiced fully on Monday, something they also did on Saturday and Sunday. Witten put in a limited practice for the third straight day. Witten said he will play if he's medically cleared, and the possibility of that happening will become much clearer after he undergoes a scan on his lacerated spleen Tuesday.
Fantasy Analysis:
While I expect Bryant to be full-go, I think Austin will be somewhat restrained considering that these three practices represented his first action since straining his hamstring Aug. 4. He's a risky play, but if you are looking for a reason to play Austin -- because you probably don't have three receivers better than him -- this should be a high-scoring game, and the Giants' secondary can be exploited.
Witten remains likely to sit this one out, but we should know more about this situation tomorrow night after his scan.
