Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier has already said running back Adrian Peterson
is a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars. If Peterson does play, don't expect to see him much at all.
"We wouldn't want to approach it, for sure if he makes it back, with the mindset that he has gone through an entire offseason with his teammates," Frazier said of Peterson on Monday. "... We recognize if he's able to get in his first ballgame, it'll be with limited exposure. We'll talk about it as the week goes on and see how he's doing, and if it's even a valuable option to let him play."
Fantasy Analysis:
Like Maurice Jones-Drew, Peterson will see a handful of snaps in Week 1. Unlike Jones-Drew, we don't know if he's even going to play. Expect Toby Gerhart
to get at least a couple of starts here in September, and he is going to be a really nice player to have early on since Minnesota's first two opponents are the Jaguars and the Colts.
As far as Peterson goes, put him on your bench and be patient. Hopefully you didn't pay too steep of a price for a player who was expected to be at least limited for the first few weeks of the year.
