There is not a split-backfield scenario in Seattle. Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch
is the workhorse who got paid in the offseason and will continue to be their main guy. But that doesn't mean he'll have the field all to himself. According to the Tacoma News Tribune, rookie running back Robert Turbin
's strong preseason means he will be "a significant part of the game plan." Turbin ran for 165 yards and a touchdown on 38 carries in August. He also caught six passes for 19 yards.
Fantasy Analysis:
Turbin is a stocky runner with really good speed. He fits the Seahawks' zone-blocking scheme well, and he's been one of my favorite running backs to draft in the late rounds, because I believe Lynch will disappoint. Preseason stats don't mean much to me, but Turbin showed great burst and will inject energy into a running game that I think will be lacking some over the course of this season.
