New Orleans Saints running back and PPR dynamo Darren Sproles
(knee) is currently listed as questionable for his Week 1 game against the Washington Redskins, yet he returned to practice on Monday. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Sproles is on track to play and the questionable tag is merely precautionary.
Fantasy Analysis:
Sproles is a must-start in PPR leagues and is a decent option in standard leagues. It will be interesting to see how the Saints utilize their backfield between Sproles, Mark Ingram
, Pierre Thomas
, and even Chris Ivory might see a touch or two. Washington has a good, but not yet great front seven which could lead to a lot of checkdowns and dump-offs to Sproles. This is a backfield that experiences a lot of injuries so monitor how the touches are split throughout the season. If, for example, Thomas gets injured, that would be a big boost to the other backs' production.
