ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted that the New York Giants expect wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (foot) to play in Week 1. Schefter also added to the tweet "the question is how effective he will be." Nicks has only been well enough to practice for about three weeks and has had some less than 100-percent during camp. Now that it's game week, the Giants have given him a day off here and there. Assuming he plays, it doesn't appear that he's fully healthy just yet.
Fantasy Analysis:
Nicks is worth a start unless you've got some really great depth. The upside of his play style is too much to ignore. He can stretch the field, break tackles and work the middle of the field. For what it's worth, the Giants have been saying this entire week that Nicks is going to play. It's worth considering that the Cowboys will be using rookie cornerback Morris Claiborne to matchup against Nicks. If that doesn't whet your fantasy appetite, nothing will.
