Tight end Jason Witten
has told the Dallas Cowboys front office that he is willing to sign a medical waiver to "absolve the team and its doctors of liability in case he re-injures his spleen." The team currently lists him as doubtful and even so, he will be a game-time decision "in case a doctor provides medical clearance Wednesday." The Cowboys have made no public comment about this matter.
Fantasy Analysis:
It's hard to knock Witten's insistence and willingness to play. Even though it's only the first game of the regular season, it's still a divisional game. A win here sets the down and gives them a head-start. It seems every year, each of the NFC East teams could win the division. If Witten does play, there's no reason to sit him. The guy is tough as nails and hasn't missed a game in his career. That's something to hang your hat (or helmet) on without a doubt.
