Vikings running back Adrian Peterson
went through another practice on Friday. And as has been the case this week, he gave limited participation. Peterson is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Jaguars. Head coach Leslie Frazier told 1500ESPN.com that Peterson's status will be determined Sunday.
Fantasy Analysis:
Yep, that's what we expected after Peterson did the same on Wednesday and Thursday. Coaches and beat reporters alike expect Peterson to play against Jacksonville, and I agree. However, Frazier said earlier this week that Peterson would have "limited exposure" in this game, and that's what we need to focus on. Toby Gerhart
is going to be the Vikings' top runner on Sunday. He's going to get the large majority of the carries and will probably catch some passes, too. He's a fine RB2 or flex option. Meanwhile, even if Peterson plays, he should not be in your lineup. The matchup is good, but he just won't get enough chances to be very productive.
Side note: It's a little weird that fantasy owners will more likely need to bench Peterson, Maurice Jones-Drew and Arian Foser (if he's inactive) in the first week of the season.
