Chargers RB Ryan Mathews still not cleared for contact

The Chargers have an extra day to prepare for Monday night's matchup against the Raiders, but it doesn't look like it will matter much for running back Ryan Mathews 
. Mathews participated in individual drills for the third consecutive day on Friday, but he has yet to practice with the team because he still hasn't been cleared for contact. According to Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego, Mathews spent Friday doing his drills in shorts, without his helmet and pads.
Fantasy Analysis:
Mathews has always said he'll be ready for Week 1, but that's not going to be the case. We'll update his status tomorrow after the Chargers hold their final practice of the week; don't expect much of a change. Ronnie Brown will probably get the first crack at the Raiders' run defense, a decent matchup. However, he'll be joined by Le'Ron McClain and Curtis Brinkley , capping Brown's potential. Brown is only a very deep flex option.
