Redskins HC Mike Shanahan approves of RB Alfred Morris

Running back Alfred Morris @Trey_Deuces got the start for the Redskins on Sunday and acquitted himself well by rushing for 96 yards and two touchdowns. On Monday, head coach Mike Shanahan said Morris will remain in that role.
"Alfred right now is our starting running back," Shanahan said.

Fantasy Analysis:

There may very well come a time in the not-to-distant future when we all remember when Morris was the Redskins' starting running back, scored two times in a game and have a nice laugh, But for now, Morris has the starting job and he has it pretty much all to himself. He got 28 carries against the Saints; no other Redskins running back got more than two. We all know this depth chart can change on whim, but I would have faith in Morris as an RB2 in a favorable matchup against the Rams next week.

Should I trade Morris for Tony Gonzales? With Sproles, Petersen, and Kevin Smith I think I can get by without Morris and Gonzales is a little upgrade form Owen Daniels, thoughts?

Kevin Smith barring injuries should be your RB1 with sproles as back up/flex. If your lacking at TE then go for Tony G. But for running backs are concerned your stacked.

T. Richardson or A. Morris for RB2 this week. This is non-PPR.

jdprock as much as I like T.Richardson, I would bench him until Colt McCoy is the starting QB and maybe beyond CLE looks horrible. A. Morris is THE guy and looks like the type of back that will thrive in a zone blocking scheme. Not much wiggle room for Morris with Shannahan but especially playing the Rams he will be the starting RB going into week 3.

As my running backs I have, Benjarvus,Beanie wells, cedric benson, stevan ridley and Peton Hillis..I know im lacking in rb but I also have alfred morris and i was asked for a trade ...Alfred MOrris for Redman and Jason Witten ...I know i dont need nor want redman ...but would getting Witten for Morris be a good deal , also being that i only have Dustin Keller as my TE?

It's not a bad deal for you. Witten is a huge upgrade over Keller, and I think you have three RBs -- BJG-E, Benson and Ridley -- who will finish this season ahead of Morris in fantasy points. So yeah, this makes since if you want to do it.
