Four days after injuring his right foot on a 88-yard touchdown catch and run, Pierre Garcon
did little more then stretch during the Redskins practice on Wednesday. Though the ex-Colt said shortly after Washington's stunning victory over New Orleans that he would play in Week 2 against St. Louis, perhaps that was the adrenaline talking. Adding to the mid-week mystery, Garcon did not speak with the media and all Redskins coach added was an incredibly generic, "We'll see how he is tomorrow."
Fantasy Analysis:
Garcon racked up 109 yards and touchdown in one quarter against the Saints. Obviously his owners would like a chance to start the physical target and see what he could produce with RG3 over four quarters, especially against a Rams secondary that last season allowed the eighth most points to fantasy wide outs. While St. Louis' revamped secondary proved solid against Detroiut last week, don't be shy about using Garcon as a low-end WR2 or flex assuming he starts. Should he miss the week, Santana Moss
figures to increase his ordinary Week 1 numbers (3-43). Also worth noting that second-year receiver Aldrick Robinson
took over for Garcon and caught four passes for 52 yards and a touchdown. Worth a flyer in deep leagues for Garcon owners, but would be a rather risky start considering his limited playing time and the Redskins also having Josh Morgan and the forgotten Leonard Hankerson.
