New York Jets tight end Dustin Keller
not only missed practice on Friday, he skipped it altogether due to a hamstring injury. The Jets also signed TE Dedrick Epps which suggests that the team does not expect Keller to be ready for Week 2. Some reports have listed Keller as 'out' for the Jets' game against the Pittsburgh Steelers while some still have him questionable.
Fantasy Analysis:
Keller has been a fringe TE1 for most of his career. He only caught one pass during New York's blowout against the Buffalo Bills. If you've got Keller on your roster, he should certainly not be starting. Mid-week downgrades are never a good thing and typically suggest the player will not be ready to play. Given that the tight end position has depth like its never seen before, there's no reason to consider the Jets' backup TE Jeff Cumberland. It will be interesting to see how the Jets perform on the road against Pittsburgh since the safe assumption is that they overachieved to start the 2012 season.
