Maybe no player garnered more positive buzz this week than Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb
. The Packers made a concerted effort to get the ball into his hands in Week 1. We read how he is an "omnipresent mismatch" and how the Packers would try to get the ball to him as much as possible versus the Bears. But as was the case with almost every player in that game, Cobb was a fantasy disappointment. He handled the ball two times on offense, gained 48 total yards and missed some snaps after coming down with a stinger during the first half. He returned shortly thereafter, but Cobb was on the field for just 20 snaps. He was on the field for 35 snaps against the 49ers in Week 1.
Fantasy Analysis:
In short, maybe the hype has gone too far with Cobb. Obviously, he has a ton of upside, but maybe we need to calm it down until Cobb gets on the field more consistently. His week-to-week production will depend on game flow and opponent.
