Just a few days ago, it was reported that Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte sustained a high ankle sprain that coudl have potentially kept him out nearly a month. The latest report coming from head coach Lovie Smith is that Forte does not a high ankle sprain and is only sore after Chicago's Thursday night loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Bears brought RB Kahlil Bell back to the roster in the meantime should Forte need time off.
It's difficult to know what to make of this. It's been three days since the news of Forte's high ankle sprain was originally circulated and now it's apparently not as serious. The Bears appeared to strike a good balance in Week 1 between Forte and Michael Bush , but a underwhelming offensive performance last Thursday against Green Bay makes the fantasy prospects of both backs a little more hazy. Bush doesn't much yardage and will score while Forte gets most of the yards and won't score. I think we all liked this backfield a lot more when it was just Forte.
